Note: If your router uses a special character in the password that the range extender doesn't support, the range extender would not be able to extend your Wi-Fi signal. In this case, change your router's password.
Do special characters make your password more secure?
The truth is they don’t. Special character in passwords is a way to avoid using simple dictionary words which would make it easy to guess. Otherwise, they are no more secure than using mixed case like lower and upper case characters.
How to create a strong password?
Password length and complexity are key when creating a password. Guidelines to set a strong password:
1. Use at least 8 characters. The longer the password, the longer it will take to crack.
2. Include numbers, special characters and a combination of both uppercase and lowercase letters.
3. Don't use words that are too personal.
